2019 Paid Summer Internship Program

Our Summer Internship Program is a highly selective 8 week paid national talent development program designed to be a springboard for individuals with a demonstrated interest in journalism, marketing or sales. Our summer interns will work with our local teams at an Advance Local affiliate in Massachusetts; Alabama; Louisiana; Michigan; New Jersey; Central and Staten Island New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Portland, Oregon; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

What to Expect 

As one of the nation’s leading media marketing companies, we are seeking talented and motivated individuals for our paid national talent development program.

The Advance Local Sales and Marketing intern will work alongside the digital sales and marketing team to develop multi-platform advertising solutions for our local and regional advertisers. This person will help craft proposals and support the fulfillment of campaigns. The position offers the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing solutions. Interns will work with talented and experienced sales and marketing professionals. The Sales and Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to the local media group as well as the larger community.

Content Interns will help produce stories for our readers on local issues and topics. You’ll report directly to an Associate Editor and have the opportunity to make significant contributions to your local media group as well as the larger community.

Internships will take place June 3 – July 26, 2019.

Who should apply?

Current, full time juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Business, Communications, or related fields, or with prior work experience in these areas.
